I grew up where in the summer you where pulling ticks off of you all the time, everyday. Years and years of that and never used twezzers, just yanked them off. Never got lyme disease from them.

I was loving on my dog recently and felt something crawling on me. I looked and it was tick. When I went to get the tick off me, he embedded himself in me. Someone immediately removed the tick for me. Approximately eight days later, I woke up with a stiff neck, then got a headache. Later in the day, I started running a fever (103.2) and felt like I had the flu. I even hallucinated. I'm on antibiotics but my joints are so painful I can hardly sleep at night.

UGH! Why are antibiotics considered "experimental" treatment for a BACTERIAL INFECTION?! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard, and I've heard some pretty ridiculous things!
