Gino Vannelli/The Gist Of The Gemini/War Suite Tracks 6&7

For Kathy in Texas, a big Gino fan. Her first concert was in 1976 during Gino Vannelli's "The Gist Of The Gemini Tour". She celebrates his birthday every year on June 16th.
"Gist Of The Gemini" is a very intense cd and a must for a Gino Vannelli fan. I have cherished this since 1976...
The album "The Gist Of The Gemini" was released by A&M records in 1976. It contains music that ranges from R&B, to classical. The music is soulful, passionate and reflective. Tracks 6-11 are a continuous work. They lead us through thoughts about our responsibility and the price we pay for defending our liberty. The 32 year old set of songs is more relevant now than when it was first recorded. We long time Gino fans have appreciated this for years. This video is of tracks 6&7.

So do I......;) Thank you for the comment...I hope one day that you will be able to attend one of his concerts....BTW, he released 2 more cd's in 2010, "The Best And Beyond" & "Stardust In THe Sand"...Stardust has a book and a cd, the book is fantastic and as a fan you would really enjoy reading it; it also includes some pictures..Hope you check them out and purchase !!!

Ah.... what a song, what an lp. I remember listing to this 1976 on Ponasonic turntable, a pair of JBL speakers and a jointin hand.. Those were the days, my friend!! A drummer friend introduced me. As a drummer myself... the drumming on this song is by far the best ever.

In the mid-70's thought Gino was nothing but sex appeal and the chick magnet thingy until I heard War Suite and was blown away. A very good and diverse talent, no doubt about it. Yeah and he can drive the ladies crazy too! LOL!

Gino was just as good as the other bands back in the 70's. He was up there with the rock, funk,R&B and jazzrock. He was something else...and still is kicking....What a voice!
