Here's a brief video account of our Inauguration adventure! What the video doesn't show is just how many, many hours we spent walking around (sometimes in circles!) only to find closed gates, blocked streets, stuck, non-moving crowds and totally clueless (but friendly) security guards.
When the infamous purple gate finally closed for good, right in front of us, we were surrounded by people from all over the country, who had been there since 6am or before. Yet some people who stumbled upon the gate at 11:30 got in (and weren't even asked to show their ticket!). It was so completely random. And so sad.
In hindsight, we should have just stayed at the Washington Monument by the Jumbotron we passed when we first got to the Mall. Who knew? But at least we got some good exercise, got to see the canons go off and our experience made for an interesting video.
I am just grateful that Obama supporters are a peaceful crowd and everyone made it through the day alive and safe. Especially Obama!
Barry is an epic FAILURE !

What an awesome attitude - how great it is that Obama has supporters like you - your report gives me even more hope for our nation with Obama leading us - determined yet positive and peace-loving people.

Thanks for sharing. We had a similar experience with clueless but cheerful officers.

Great video! I too watched the purple gates close before us, and the cannons go off... I'm very grateful Obama supporters are so peaceful and everyone made it through the day alive and safe. Especially Obama!
