This is footage of when we were training at Frank's house in Somerset, England. Leo who had trained two days Silat & Knife Survival with me had been asking alot about taichi - 'Is it real!?' etc.. He was genuinely interested so I showed him.

Now Leo has trained Muay Thai, Kapap & been a professional executive bodyguard for the past 10 years; he's not one to piss around, so I really liked using him for demonstrations, not only is he one of the strongest guys I know but he hadn't done taiji before so there's no way he knew what was coming nor could he 'play along with it'. He intentively tried to put locks on me and keep his balance, through relaxation and sensative awareness I am able to feel the lines of force & tension in his body and easily break his connection to the ground.

All in all I want to say thank you to Frank & Lizzie for their hospitality and Leo for being such a good sport! :-)

For those interested in Taichi you can order the first DVD onlien at www.raw-combat.com or you can take part in our onlien training available next month. (This month only Raw Knife Survival has been released as online training)

  • great video!

but maybe next time a close up on ur technique?

  • Thank you :-)

Note- this is not an instructional vid.

If it was of course there would be close ups, a range of angles, clear audio etc.

    Cheers

  • Thanks for sharing this. It's great to see application like that. Nice skill, fluid and gentle as water, so strength has nothing to grasp. Finally seeing that principle in action is a pleasure.

  • This is a great video. Very interesting stuff in there.

  • Great applications! I love the grounding and movement of Qi. Thanks.

  • @Bobbisky I'm a veteran and i teach tai chi lol go figure... the main principle of tai chi is yin and yang, and is all inclusive.... funny how some people take it as restricting you from learning any other style...

  • @TeamWuJin COOL STORY BRO

  • This is a great video dude. Thanks for all the posts!

  • Hehe awesome video. yer like a freaking rubber band against (with?) those attempts at the elbow/shoulder locks!

  • very true its up to the person HE himself ,not the art . After all even if he loses its not the art that loses its he himself again dat loses. Hell i have seen tonnes of kung fu fighters lose, even tai chi ,this really proves that its not the art,no question asked, its the person using it that loses. No art is undefeatable even the so called legendary shaolin monks. After all we r all humans,we r fallable,we make mistakes

  • great video !

  • I found this channel by accident. Good thing, I like what you are doing. Many styles claim they are the best and do not learn from others. I trained in Tai Chi Chuan for a while, then left because of drama. Now I just focus on self defense and try hard to stay away from theory that excludes learning any other style. My current teacher is a veteran who has actually had to survive, I've learned a lot. Thanks.
