  • I enjoyed viewing this video of the ALEXANDER HAMILTON engine. Some twenty years ago the Circle Line was to commission a model from me of the earlier Dayliner WASHINGTON IRVING for display on one of their vessels. never heard anything from it. It was good to know that this company bought the interest of both A.H. and PETER STUYVESANT during the '60s.

I am probably the only modelmaker who have built the principle vessels of the fleet in detail. Kudos to our region for promoting such boats.

  • I grew up in Poughkeepsie, and I really miss the Alexander Hamilton. I wish I could have recorded her steam whistle when she arrived everyday at 2:30PM.

  • Nice clip. When I was 11 years old (1971), my grandmother and I took a trip on the Day Line up to Bear Mountain Park. I vividly remember going to the engine room and seeing that magnificent engine at work. Little did I know that the Alexander Hamilton would soon become part of history. What I wouldn't give to relive that day!

  • Great view of the engine. I have a slideshow that includes the Hamilton and other New York Steamers on my channel. I remember always taking this boat to Bear Mountain
