@idiotmachine2001 One thing with Playon that people always forget...Turn off Playon first!!! Connect the VPN then make sure you're a US IP. Then when that's all done turn on your Playon Media Server...I had this problem many times before too!

@Fisherkingnigel .... That's With the VPN - (I had strongvpn do the configuration) Still nothing. Looks like I would need a VPN router - i even tried a US proxy on the wii ... must be a wii thing. Thanks for all of your attention on this. Much appreciated.

@idiotmachine2001 Ok nice so you can access the media server. Well that's why you'll need the VPN installed. All you have do is just purchase one, configure it on your PC and you'll be all set up. First make sure to turn your VPN (PC), then Playon. Now when you select your media server you'll be on a US IP thus giving you those blocked channels.
Personally I went a different route now where I just have a permanent VPN router in my house. Makes connecting with Xbox and Smartphones much easier.

@Fisherkingnigel I tried. The wii saw the playon and let me choose my pc, but when I tried to open the hulu or netflix channels I got the "not available outside the us" message. Thanks though. It was worth a shot ... guess I'll just continue watching on the laptop for the duration of this trip and better prepared the next time.

@idiotmachine2001 Try this, can you install Playon media server on your computer then access it from the wii? If you can this will work...Wii is kinda limited in my opinion but he you never know...

So, correct me if I'm wrong (please) but this won't work with a wii, will it? I've tried to no avail.

regarding video performance... on Playon.TV I can now watch all my shows on HIGH quality now. So play with that setting guys!
ok, you can delete the rest of my comments ... how embarrassing. That was it. On the flip side, I'm watching the latest House, MD on TV through my Wii in PERU! Can't thank you enough! Couldn't thank you enough. For a perfect stranger, I gotta say, you're alright!
