Macintosh Text-to-Speech Song

I've been playing around with the Mac's native text-to-speech capability. I was sure there were ways to add custom-length pauses, but couldn't figure it out on my own. Searching, I found an answer, but in the comments posted to the article I also found the following, and this is just unbelievable. I now know I need to find the Apple developer white paper on ...all these commands. If you have a Mac, select/highlight all the text below the separator, then go to [Application name]---»Services---»Speech---»Start Speaking Text...
