  • @fipnet I think she would have been a great Nellie. She could always record it even if she didn't sing it in the movie .. oh well ... we'll just have to be satisfied with hearing her sing a couple of the songs. Thanks !!

  • Of course, would have Doris Day been an incredible Nellie Forbush in South Pacific but, if that had been the case, she wouldn't have had the chance to sing 'Happy Talk' since it's Bloody Mary, and not Nellie, who sings this song on South Pacific.

    Anyway, it's alwaways great to hear Doris' wonderful performances!

  • @Dayniac4324 That seems to be the reason. He was also a jerk to begin with. I didn't know Norman Jewison wrote a book. Is it his autobiography? I'm glad he says the truth about Marty. Doris shouldn't be shocked about what Norman wrote about Marty.
