@clairecuttie it was so it would be understood in countries that don't call them prawns. bit silly really. it's a bit like going somewhere and attempting to copy the slang. it confuses people into odd beliefs about others.

Actually, it was in an old commercial advertising Australia as a holiday destination with Paul Hogan. He actually says something like "We'll throw another shrimp on the barbie for you." But yeah, we call them prawns! I don't know why that came about!
