Happiness is a feeling that can't be put into words, much like love. But some people can't find happiness as easily as others. Everyone deserves it. So find a way to spread it.

Darkness seeped through the window and consumed every inch of lightness that could be found in any crevice of Abigail's room. The atmosphere seemed gloomy but Abigail made everything bright again. Her eyes were closed but I knew she wasn't sleeping. We had been like this all day but I was not tired of it at all.
I would occasionally kiss her forehead and play with her hair, little expressions of affection. And every time I did something like that, she would give me a small smile or move a little bit closer. Everything was so perfect. The door opened and her mother walked in. "Oh, I'm sorry."
Abigail turned to look at her mother. "It's okay."
"Well, supper is ready. Would you like to join us, Joseph?"
"If that's okay with you and your husband..."
"Of course."
She closed the door and I looked down at Abigail. "I don't think I can stay."
"But you just said--"
"I know. But my parents probably think something happened."
"Oh." Her face dropped. "Okay. I was just... hoping that you would stay the night."
She gave me this sad look and I didn't want her to be disappointed. "Never mind. I'll stay."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Now, let's go eat before the food gets cold." I grabbed her hand and we walked into the dining room. We sat down and had a nice dinner together. I felt like I belonged here. Abigail's parents were so nice to me and I wish mine were like that. These people treated me like family and it made me happy.
After dinner, we said goodnight and went back into Abigail's room. We got back into bed and embraced each other for warmth. "You don't know how miserable I was without you, Abigail."
"After I realized how much you really meant to me, it was horrible. I missed you."
"Now Im back. And I'm going to stay with you." And with an unexplainable joy, I drifted to sleep.
~~ The Next Morning ~~
I twirled her soft hair in between my fingers. I kissed the tip of her nose and took in a deep breath. Why did Abigail have to be so beautiful? I stared at her serene face and smiled when I thought of how lucky I was to have her back. I didn't deserve to have her in my arms again but here she was.
How could I even think of killing myself? I would have caused this girl so much more pain than I already had. I was so glad that she had stopped me. And I was so glad that Keri had found the note in time to show it to Abigail. I wasn't sure it was Keri but it probably was. I'd have to ask.
I reached down and grabbed the necklace that still hung around my neck. I read the inscription that I knew so well now. Love is patient. And the love that I had for Abigail held me this far. Who knows what I would have done if Abigail hadn't entered my life. I couldn't even imagine it.
The door opened. "Abigail, it's--" She stopped when she saw her daughter fast asleep. I put my finger to my lips to signal that she had to be quiet. Abigail's mother nodded and closed the door quietly. I could only imagine what she was thinking. Maybe she was happy that we were back together. I knew I was.
Abigail fidgeted and moved a little. She looked so beautiful. She moved closer to me and I gladly held her. Her eyelids slowly lifted and I finally could see her radiant blue eyes. I smiled down at her. "Good morning, beautiful."
"Good morning, handsome."
"How did you sleep?"
"Perfectly... because I slept in your arms. And you?"
"No words could describe the joy I felt to finally be able to hold you again. So yes, I slept very well."
She lightly giggled. "I'm glad."
"Can I ask you for some advice?"
"Sure."
"Okay. Well... there's this maid in the castle. Her name is Keri. I think she was the one who gave you the note yesterday. Did she have dark brown hair and dark brown eyes?"
"Yes, she did."
"So it was her. Well, she and one of the servants have been seeing each other but they were caught together about a week ago by my mother. It's against the rules for them to be with each other so she threatened them with her jobs. Keri ended up telling Nicholas, the servant, that they couldn't be with each other anymore."
"That's so sad."
"Yes and I want to help them but I don't know how."
"Hmm. I'm not sure. Sorry."
"Well, maybe I'll think of something later. Now, let's go to breakfast. Your mother came in a while ago."
She smiled. "Okay. Let's go."
Now that I had the girl I love back, I wanted the same for Nick and somehow... I would find a way for them to be together.

Im happy that abigail and joe are together. They are like the best couple ever and they definatly love each other even though they come from like two different worlds (not literally xD )
