That's Dupre and Lynwood Farnum in the picture. I believe it was Farnum who had the first "notion" that the C and L might work at the organ. Actually, in some ways I prefer this "transcription" to Dupre's own.
This is just wonderful! I heard Edgar Hilliar only once...at Methuen, back in the sixties. He was a stunning player, as this recording attests. Odd, in a way, that he wasn't better known. Perhaps he didn't crave the spotlight.
