This past Tuesday, 28 Sep 2010, a good friend of mine, Marine Lance Corporal Ralph J. Fabbri, was killed in action in Afghanistan. He was scheduled to come home in a few weeks, but lost his life during a routine foot patrol one day before his 21st birthday. This is just one of the ways I'm trying to honor him.

  • to whom ever made this i thank you from the bottom of my heart, and to speak on behalf of the family we all thank you. you have done a wonderful job.

  • @sweetnsexiana

Not sure if you know me, but I'm James Trexler; I graduated with Ralph. I want you to know that I was so proud of him for joining the Marines. I'm doing AFROTC now, and I always thought of him as a brother-in-arms. I spent a lot of time with him on the golf and forensics teams; he was an amazing guy.

I'm talking to people from Penn Cambria about starting a scholarship in his honor. I really hope I can make this work; it's the least I can do.

  • I was on a foot patrol at 9:30 am in Afghanistan and I stepped on an IED (improvised exsplosive device) and lost my left leg about 5 inches to the foot down. But my friend LCPL Josh Adams wasn't as lucky as I was, the bomb blast and shrapnel took both his legs. He bled out within 7 minutes. I remember it all. It was terrible. It should have been me. I always think this, if we could trade places I would. I'm sorry for your loss. Semper Fi Marine. I hope to meet you someday, and to see Josh again.

  • I'm sorry to not have been as close to Ralph. It makes me very sad he had to give his life. But it makes me proud to say I knew him. I'm sorry for his family's loss. I found out about his death while on watch at the main gate of my base. I can't believe he is gone. You are gone my friend, but your memory shall live one in Gallitzin and in the heart of every service member whom you have served with. Rest in Peace Marine.
