I have been a nurse for a long time and the insurance companies DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. I have seen many people who have insurance get dropped because they were diagnosed with cancer,and the insurance companies deem it a pre-exsisting condition. These Insurance companies also do this with woman having problems with pregnancy....dropped for a pre exsisting condition as well.WAKE UP WE NEED A PUBLIC OPTION.

The last thing this country needs is the federal government running health care. Know anyone who uses the VA system? I do and they're passionate about their stance against the govt option.

Regardless of what anyone thinks, if the federal govt can't run or fully finance the existing entitlement programs, what makes anyone think they can run another in the midst of a $2 trillion dollar deficit and many trillions more in public debt?

@biggie440 Private insurance fails, considering 45,000 people die each year without it and 14,000 drop it per day because they can't afford it. If the average person had to pay for their insurance themselves, they'd have to pay on average $525.00 to $600.00 per month and its going up. Thats why people with no jobs, jobs that don't carry insurance and part time workers have to pay. Did you know that? Now i'll turn it around for you. How many government services charge $500 to $600/month?

@johnfetchko I have two soldiers in my immediate family. 5 brothers and sisters who are veterans. 3 of us combat. We are all liberals. My sons says the cowardly rightwingers were the reasons they had to go back to Irag on 3 and 4 tours of duty. While the young republican who supported the war, wouldn't sign up and take their place. They say the rightwingers are their enemies.

anything is better than the status quo, if there's a problem with the single payer system or the public option, will be easier to fix than keep the actual situation, there is people dying because they have no coverage! have you been in the emergency room, if you are no bleeding, they not treat you! and the first thing they ask is for your insurance coverage! this can not be the american way! wake out people! the fox network have you under a spell!

The problem with the Public Option is that most people will dumped into it by their employer because it will be cheaper. The Public Option, by the legislation, follow the practice of underpaying doctors and hospitals by 20-40%. Private insurance companies be be unable to compete. The American public will be left with no choice but govt run healthcare. If it turns out anything like Canada or the UK, expect rationing, waiting lists and a drop off in quality. The costs will be astronomical Vote NO!
