On the 27 of November 2009 I went to the Bellarine Peninsula Railway for the first time. The running locomotive on this day was former S.A.R and newly restored steam locomotive T 251. On this particular day it was the Queenscliff Music Festival. Comment and Rate.

I was testing a different video camera setting on this day which didnt turn out to well.

  • Excellent Video!! How long did it take to restore? If you know

  • Saturday 11th April 2009 was T 251's first trip since 1991 which is 18 years ago. I will get back to you on the restoration time unless anybody else knows.

  • first time i laid eyes on 251 was from a vhs video tape called Steam Alive which covered alot of austrailian steam including the BPR with 251 as the star. i fell in love with her beautiful i think it was a 3 chime steam whistle that she had mounted right smack dab on top of the cab roof. ohhh that whistle sounded good.

but none the less she looks better now compared to when the video was made

  • I've been following the restoration of this loco and to see it in action on here shows the BPR did a magnificent job in restoring the old girl.
