Ending the shuttle: sensible, given completion of the ISS and the cost and manpower required for every flight. Deferring, delaying and/or globalizing the Constellation program: inevitable, given the economy and the ballooning U.S. debt. Canceling Ares I / Orion: unnecessary, inane, inexcusable and downright stupid. It will cripple manned U.S. space for decades to come and consign the country to third world status.
