It only lasted one season (only 16 episodes) on CBS, but Bette Midler's 2000'-2001' sitcom is a classic. There were many problems with the show including Lindsay Lohan as Bette's teenage daughter, being replaced by Marina Melota after the pilot episode . Another cast change came when Kevin Dunn who played Bette's husband, was let go and replaced with "Angie" and "Airplane" star Robert Hays.
Included here are a bunch of scenes with stars that include Dolly Parton, Olivia Newton-John, Brenda Song and more.
I hope you enjoy a look back at this rare series as yet to see the light of day on DVD.
I love the Divine miss M, and James Dreyfuss for that matter, but for some reason she (Bette) is rubbish in this....hammy, and she delivers her lines in what is known as 'the declarative style'...like a 14 year old in a toothpaste ad from the 60's...i guess even the greats can have an off day!
