Removing and installing a serpentine belt in an I6 Trailblazer.

2 things to keep in mind while doing this:

-Do not let the tensioner "flop back", ease it back using the ratchet.

-Do not let the ratchet hit that sensor near the valve cover.

As for which belt is the right one, the short wheel base trucks take the 91.5" belt, the long wheel base trucks take the 90.5" belt. If you're shopping for a belt, a lot of parts stores will as you what size alternator you have. All of the I6s came with a 150A alt so that question is irrelevant. The difference is in the wheel base.

  • @xboxlivelover17 Nah, a lot of people have asked for this. I made one when I really did have to replace it (about 10k miles ago) but there was a lot of wind noise.

  • yooo, how much deflection you think you should have on the new belt when installed?

  • How funny bud I just changed my belt on 1/10/2012. I got my 250 amp alt in a few weeks ago and with the small pulley and original GM belt started getting squeaks and the belt had too many cracks to count. I went with the 1 inch smaller belt and everything is proper now. Been busy but will have some vids up soon. Thanks for the how too videos!!!
