  • @olugbode100 AYINLA was not "the best among Yoruba artists" please name those artists you are sure greater than him;remember we are speaking of predominantly Yoruba recording entertainers here FELA KUTI aside, there is nobody!!! if you mentioned SUNNY and OBEY-yes they are icons;but they "tampered massively" with the works of TUNDE NIGHINGALE,AYINDE BAKARE etc in AYINLA album "OMI TITUN TIRU",he sang pompously:"awon me judge won so pe AYINLA ki n copy ni ile orin"

  • @olugbode100 ---(3)YOU seemed to have the erroneously and fallacious belief that most AYINLA's rising fans were multitudes of ineducable illiterates and uncivilised street hooligans you mistakingly ascribed to as "area boys"--please there were and are hundreds of thousands AYINLA thoroughly massively academically-intelligents fans all over the world and epitomise civility. As an unbiased, honest Yoruba person, without sentimentality you just have to accept Ayinla was an ICON.

  • @olugbode100 (2)Those " area boys" you mentioned, were they not human beings? EMI RECORDS company in 70s and 80s was number 1 in the whole universe;most African prominent artists would loved to be signed by them:AYINLA was their favourite choice."odo oyinbo ni ma wa,ma ma jeun a jedale" he crooned arrogantly in "EGBO TUNTUN"album.Ayinla was biggest selling musician.loved by innumerable numbers of highly educated Nigerian and equally cornucopia of academic literates and illiterates ones.

  • @olugbode100 YOU were massively wrong! just because your academic brothers did not like Ayinla's music;he wasnt one of the best:during Ayinla musical life,he was EASILY top 3 in Nigeria.go and re-read what late sonny okosun-a non Yoruba recording artist said about Ayinla in an interviev he gave to current Nigerian's sun newspaper.preposterously, you said most Ayinla fans were "area boys" got it wrong. my late dad with numerous of his sociable friends-were intellectual heavyweights-they loved

  • Ayinla is great, but not the best among the Yoruba artists. common now@ akinmaxi! Egunmogaji RIP is one of my favourite artists, but not the best for everybody. It is all relative brother, only the area boys listened to ayinla in Ondo, Oyo,Kwara,Bendel back in those days. Two of my brothers attended high schools in Abeokuta, none of them likes Ayinla music, but both like obey and Fela. I got hooked to Ayinla music in boarding school in oyo state. My hostel buddies were from ogbomosho play his music.

  • Best of all Yoruba artists. Who can challenge Egunmogaji at that time. When he was the Chairman all others queue behind him

  • Best of all Yoruba ever produced

  • yormeey thank you very much, i realy enjoy the music. olorun awa pelu yin

  • @emipoet I meant artists of today :-)))

  • Mr. Yormeey, thanks for your efforts in the preservation of Yoruba culture. Most yoruba artists of Tunde lack the linguistic prowess of Omowura, Haruna, and other great yoruba artists. Every time I listen to Omowura, I guess goose bumps on my skin. The man was a genius! Thanks Yormeey for preserving his work and legacy.
