I think my right to personal liberty is pretty important. The question should be addressed at least, if that's what the people want to hear.

Me personal opinion is that marijuana should be made entirely legal. I also think that all other drugs should be decriminalized as far as possession and usage (not dealing). This solution would, though not completely ending it, shrink the rampant drug cartels in the Americas. It would also, as Dan said, make people more apt to seek treatment for addiction. This is very similar to what Dan suggested, but I just don't think we should make all drugs 100% legal.

That may be true to some extent-some people are intensely prone to becoming addicted to a drug-but not every person who partakes of said drug. Just as most people can go shopping with no problems but some people will become addicted and go crazy with their shopping. Most people can blow a few bucks gambling and walk away but some with not stop till they've lost it all. The issue isn't really the substance or activity so much as the addictive nature of some people vs most who just aren't.

@cjc651 I agree completely. Some drugs WOULD inevitably unleash hell on society, because drugs like meth, crack and coke are intensely addictive and dangerous. Crack is a completely different ball game than marijuana.

"People should have the right to do whatever they want to do in the privacy of their own homes so long as what they do doesn't interfere with other people...". Should sane, sensible 15 year old teenagers be allowed to use meth-amphetamines? Restricting them to do so would interfere with their own, personal choice, right? There are limits for everything. In some countries, you must be 18 to drink. Your rationale is extreme - I believe in social ideals and conditions, not fanatical ideology.

I'm with you on the whole personal freedom thing, obviously weed should be legal. It's not even worth debating at this point. As far as legalizing all drugs, I think it's a shaky subject. You really want meth, crack, coke to be legal? I do think people have the right to do whatever the hell they want in the privacy of their own homes, but I don't think it would be a great idea to make it easy for people to get their hands on actual "dangerous" drugs.
