Xhosa (en español, a veces escrito xosa o josa [ˈkǁʰoːsa]) es un idioma bantú, una de las once lenguas oficiales de Sudáfrica. Es hablada por aproximadamente 7,9 millones, equivalente al 18% de la población sudafricana.

Like most Bantu languages, Xhosa is a tonal language, that is, the same sequence of consonants and vowels can have different meanings when said with a rising or falling or high or low intonation.
