There was a time when Americans didn't accept surrender, defeat, and didn't run from struggles for freedom. During that time, our flag wasn't pulled down and removed. It stayed through the fight, and continued to wave over a land of free people...brave people.

It's impossible to imagine what went through the minds of the brave souls who fought for our freedom, not knowing if they'd win...but willing to die trying.

And Americans haven't changed one whit since then.
