Oh my goodness!!! Thanks so much for posting this! I am super broke and my loc lady charges $90 for retighting and I go like every 6-7 weeks! I have one of those bead hair thingys in the bathroom and I am going to try this now! You have no idea how happy I am......This is probably one of the easiest how-to videos I've seen on locs.....

I know the vid is old now, but play around with camera settings, you can flip the image so your cam shows on the screen more like a mirror.
Mine has an option "Flip Horizontal"

Your hair is so very cute.
In fact I'm a little jealous to everyone who has afro-textured hair. There are such cool styles for that kind of hair :-)
I'm nordic so my hair is very, very straight and has this little bit slick feeling to it. My hair is also thick so it makes styling and maintaining a little tricky. But I guess you just gotta be happy for what you've got! Cheers!

I Love your locks! I'm four months into my sisterlocks. I started them myself, but they are growing fast. Thanks for showing how to re-tighten.

Does this take forever?

I love how your locs look...I'd like to know how you get your locs to look so full? is it because they needed to be retightened? Im interested in locing my hair but I don't want the flat looking hair.
I've researched and it says that you are supposed to wait 6 months, but I would like to immediately start maintaining my own hair once I get SL'ed. The main reason I went natural is because I wanted to be free of hair salons and routine visits. how long were you sisterlocked before you started re-tightening your hair yourself?

@beatstopper I began doing my own around my 1 year mark. I would suggest to wait to do anything because your locktician does have knowledge that you will gain as your hair progresses. If anything happens to your locks and you don't know how fix them then you wasted your money- or will spend xtra trying to repair. Stick it out for 6months-do your research- and then jump in. My mom & aunt r crying now cuz they want to color their hair & i'm making them wait just incase it starts to turn unhealthy
