I have just discovered this glitch in Legend of Zelda, Link to the Past. You can break the magic meter! I came upon it when exploring the 'invisible enemies' glitch in the Misery Mire area, so you're getting two glitches in one movie. I was going through and defeating them methodically with all the items. But when it came time to use the Cane of Somaria, the magic meter rises when the item is used fast enough and in that specific area. I'm sure the glitch could be reproduced elsewhere. I used autofire for this example, but tapping the button quickly does the job too. It announces you are out of magic power when the meter is full, then displays a glitchy white image in the lower half of the empty meter (shattered glass, anyone?). A small decanter (acquired from the Misery Mire dungeon) fills the magic meter all the way.

This glitch was done on an emulator, but I will try on a console soon.

  • Try breaking the magic meter in the GBA version.

  • I doubt that would work...

  • English failer is you!

  • It's a "curse" which halves the magic you need to do a spell. So it essentially doubles your magic meter.

  • I did this on the PS3 version

  • Aww man, you ruined it. Maybe you can get that little bat guy to fix it for you.

  • Well isn't that nifty, never seen that happen before.

  • I lold when Link said your the man naow dog

  • @creaturecorp wut?

no its not, his hair is supposed to b purple

  • Looks to me like that's what happens when the magic meter gets too high. Guess that's just the next sprite it has to display, probably used for something completely different elsewhere in the game.

  • uhh you broke it, I guess you need to have your magic meter fixed.
