Hard to believe this woman Maj. Tammy Duckworth returned from serving as a chopper pilot in Iraq and losing 2 above knee amputions from RPG, she ran for Congress and lost. Unbelieveable that like Sen Max Cleveland another Vietnam war Triple amputee lost to Chickenhawks. What were their constiuents thinking? It really makes you wonder about the American people sometimes when they so disregard the sacfrices our veterans make. God Bless you Maj. Tammy Duckworth.

Facts about Duckworth:

1) Studied at United World College of South East Asia in Singapore, 1982-83. She was constantly mocked for her Oriental appearance by an English student called Mark Simpson. Tammy simply turned the other cheek and never said anything bad to Mark. Tammy was an above-average student.

2) Constant name-calling eventually got to her and she opted to transfer to the Singapore American School, where she studied from early 1983 to 1985, graduating a year early. Well liked.

She is a complete symbol of Courage. Most of us would go somewhere, complain about our injuries , our appearance and our suffering.. / also draw disability payment until we die. But Maj Duck worth chose to continue working, serve as a Soldier and voice her opinions for better opportunity for Veterans.

Totaly concur with you. Is it possible the majority of Americans have made an about face by electing a new President free from the jingoistic rhetoric. I think Obama appointed Major Duckworth to a cabinet post Dept of Veteran Affairs.

This is the great mystery - real vets with real war injuries who stand for really helping the troops somehow lose to those who wave flags but slash vet's benefits. But the chickenhawks are good at name-calling, and it seems voters react more to not wanting to be called a wimp than supporting actual wimps who don flight suits for photo ops only.

I wonder how much she got paid for all of this... People forget that the majority of the soldiers over there have a different view and want to see this war won. Also, Bush didn't make any decisions on his own, he based his decisions on what the General's over there were reporting to him.

" If you are not with us you are against us..." What part of the threat to the US do you not understand. WMD were only one of 17 points that Democrats and Republicans voted to attack Iraq on. Attacking Iraq had nothing to do with 9-11 It had to do with preventing attacks on this country and on other countries in the Middle East.

Obama will reduce the military and make it irrelevant. I praise your service, but your Naivete is scary. Liberals will help the military right out of existence.
