[5/8/09] Ann Coulter: "Journalists keep submitting themselves not only on FOX--but submitting themselves to waterboarding and then saying, 'phew--that was torture.' No, you wouldn't submit to it if it were attaching electrodes to your testicles, that's torture." (4:00)

@kasmember17 Part #2: If the kid in question had information about a planted munition that could kill millions in your area and put your family at risk, and refused to disclose that information, would you consider her/him innocent? Would you not try any means to prevent that explosion if you only had a few hours to retrieve it? How about this, the people that were questioned were not innocent, nor were civilians, they were foriegn combatants that love to hear people like you bow before Islam.

@kasmember17 "anguish of body or mind" -look up the definition, the complete definition of anguish before you strawman the arguement to suit your opinion. You ignored symantics.
Anguish="extreme pain, distress, or anxiety" EXTREME means " going beyond a normal or acceptable limit in degree or amount " So torture= Going beyond an acceptable LIMIT OF pain, distress, or anxiety inflcted on the mind or body. There is a limit, but only to ones opinion of what is acceptable.

@SuperFifthwheel Think of this example. Say you have a kid of a terrorist, a young girl. If it could save hundreds of lives would you subject her to water boarding? Is this morally permissible? Do you have kids? Would you feel the same way if it was your kid?

@SuperFifthwheel You specifically selected the definition to suit your argument best and ingnored the first definition from the Webester dictonary where you got your definition of tourture. "anguish of body or mind : agony ". The Devil's In the Details, but thats beside my point. We can bend the meanings of words in any way we want but the fact of the matter is, is it a moral and justified way of interrogating.

@batmanofni . "intimidate implies inducing fear or a sense of inferiority into another"-merriam dictionary I'd say waterboarding is a method of inducing fear into another and a better definition of it than torture. Torture is defined as: "the infliction of intense pain (as from burning, crushing, or wounding) to punish, coerce, or afford sadistic pleasure"-merriam dictionary. Waterboarding only emulates drowning, but does not cause any intense pain.

@batmanofni Like I said, if you lock people in a prison cell or put them in solitary could be considered torture by your definition as solitary causes suffering and has caused health and mental disorders. Its your opinion though, not mine. i dont hink waterboarding is torture. I think its on the same level as solitary. When I am forcefully handcuffed it hurts my wrist and causes suffering is that torture? should police not handcuff people now?

@SuperFifthwheel Causing suffering through force is torture. Intimidation is looking big and mean, but not actually doing anything.
