Medical Helicopter night take off

A medical helicopter night time take off from a hospital landing pad. About midnight, ambulance sirens and helicopters flying overhead woke me up. Since we live near a high accident highway, I went over to take a look, being careful to stay out of the way of any emergency vehicles. This helicopter had just dropped off a patient to a nearby hospital, and about the time I arrived, was heading out, so I just stopped by the road and shot this short video clip.

He had a quartering tail wind from the left, and a bit of turbulence from the neaby building, so lifted off and stabilized before he rose into the sky. Great pilot!

PS One of my college students is a crew member on this helo.

Yes, and filming here in the US is getting dicy too. I have been stopped by officers serveral times too right here just for stopping to take a photo. I even got a little flack for doing this one!

Great night shot!! Thats not easy to get... bTw in some countries you're not allowed to film aircrafts... my boyfriend recently went to Columbia and they grabbed his camera because he took a pix ar the airport..
