QUESTION: i bought a guppy from a petstore about 5 days ago (as of 2/24) and they said she is pregnant. it is fairly clear that she is infact pregnant and her gravid spot is very dark red looking she is allready in a seperate tank with airation but i don't know when she will give birth. she looks squared but not as much as yours should i stay up to see if she drops her fry? or is it too soon for her to give birth?

@guppiesRlife If you can see little dark spots (eyes of the fry) in her gravid spot slowly moving towards the end of her body. Another sign is if the eyes tend to be chaining positions quite often. And her stomach area is not round but flatter at the bottom and she looks sort of like a box then she might give birth soon. I can't say for sure when she will give birth but if you want to keep an eye on her, you can. Other wise, if you want to save some fry then make sure they have hiding places.

Question: My guppy looks exactly like yours pregnancy wise. How long do you think before she gives birth? Her gravid spot is dark. The fry descended down in like 2 hours and they became noticeable. The eyes are extremely large and you can clearly see them.

@CierraW1 Well if she looks like this guppy and she really is squared off then she will give birth today. This guppy gave birth 2 hours after I made this video.

well one of my guppies is thin and boxy looking i've had her for about 6 weeks, she is only eating small things off of a fake rock and she is swimming away from the others. She also comes up to the surface to eat but she only goes up about 1/4 inch below the surface, deciding if she wants to eat, is she giving birth soon? I am no fish expert I am still researching.

@DarkwolfObsidian77 It is possible she might be giving birth soon. You may want to separate her from the other fish if you want to save the fry and reduce the stress for her. You may also want to make sure its not some infection like dropsy, if she is really bloated around her stomach.
