I have an Intel Core 2 Duo (E6750) on a Gigabyte P35 board and an nVidia 8800 GTX, so nothing very special. But enough horsepower to record the scenes in 1024x768 with at least 25 fps. Although I did not try harbour scenes with much traffic. I guess then fps will drop below 25 fps.

Which program did you use to capture the scenes from the game?

I capture the scenes with Fraps. Works without problems in the standard resolution of the game (1024x768)

in the normal silent hunter 3 is there anyway you can get communicate for assistance and say get a allied warship or another u boat to come? if not is there a add on i can get for this?

Not that I know of. If you report a contact you may get assistance from aircraft in case you are in the vicinity of german air bases. But you may want to post your question at subsim. Maybe someone can help you there.
