After a week spent on the oil rigs off the shore of Texas, Bucky is back home for a few days of rest, fast women, whiskey and music. This is when things started to go wrong. Within 48 hours, poor Bucky had lost all his hard earned money in a game of poker. The crooks washed him clean of everything he owned and left him with nothing but his boots, buckle and a bus ticket to nowhere fast.
Then, just when life looked grim and everything seemed lost, Bucky remembered a lesson learned recently in the book "The Tao of Willie", written in the 17th century by some wise man living in a mansion on the hill. His words of wisdom, or what Bucky made of it anyway, were: "Breathe a lot of air, drink a lot of water and music is a part of everything". This reminded him that even though his situation was hopeless and he had nothing in this world anymore, he still had music in him.
He called Bunny, and booked the "King Buster's Playground" for a night of honky tonkin'. With the recent success of their last duo, they might raise enough petty cash for some chicken, coleslaw & Light Beer? After breaking their teeth on some songs from Sleepy LaBeef, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Melba Montgomery, they nailed this very strong version "Beyond Here Lies Nothin" from the upcomming Bob Dylan album.
With a little luck, this song will be Bucky & Bunny's big break. Bucky will leave the hard life of the rig, Bunny will resign from her job as "The Fantastic Jumping Flea" in the Circus and a new life will begin for both of them... Till then, enjoy and stay tuned for more...
