In 1998, KDNL-TV, St. Louis' ABC affiliate had a news department. On this hot August evening, an area-wide manhunt for an accused murderer of a St. Louis Metropolitan Police officer, was the lead story on all of the St. Louis stations.

Leslie Lyles anchors, along with Rick Powers on sports, Keryn Shipman with weather. Keryn can now be seen on KPLR CW11. Veteran news anchor Don Marsh was off.
