So the taliban only took back Afghans and left all the soldiers that came to fight for them from foreighn countries in enemy hands! wow the Taliban are douchbags
Just read the book Horse Soldiers which deals with the first US SF troops on the ground in Afghanistan just after 9/11. Their initial assistance of the Northern Alliance forces was a major military success against the Taliban. Special forces are not just highly trained fighters but excellent at negotiations and winning hearts & minds.
actually a large portion of the Northern Alliance are communists, General Dostum himself is admittedly a Communist as are many other generals. Even Ahmad Shah Mas'ood who claimed to be an enemy of the Communists allied with the Communists and in fact thats how the Northern Alliance was formed
@RedWorkerKZ US didnt supply weapons to Osama directly. They supplied them through the Pakistani ISI and then the Pakistanis gave them to the leaders. What you are trying to say is the same as saying Russia armed the Chechnyans! That's just rhetorical bull.
@RedWorkerKZ Mohammed Omar is another Afghan Arab, later he wound found a Taliban. Al-Qaeda is a myth, created by US government. Its a varrious, different organisations, that stms not even connected together. Let's ask the question: what is "Al Qaeda"? It can be translated as a "list". List of whom? List of U.S. mercenaries durinf Afgan-Soviet war. This list existed long before September 11 and was well known to the U.S. Secret Service.
@m1rock Its funny how you mentioned Saudi Arabia cus Saudis is the best friends of US and NATO. Bush's family had a business with them. Bin Laden was another member of saudi business elite. In 79 US began giving several hundred million dollars a year in aid to the Afghan Mujahideen insurgents fighting Soviet Army in Operation Cyclone. Along with native Afghan mujahideen were Muslim volunteers, popularly known as Afghan Arabs. The most famous of the Afghan Arabs was Osama bin Laden.
