I don't think they are all idiots - but the majority of his supporters are - were those who work for the government and the public sector and have massive pensions to lose and those who are in unions who wish Gordon Bennett had carried on spending the billions of Quantitive Easing pounds that were ONLY spent on the Public Sector!!! Wouldn't you just love to see where the billions were spent!

No one can deny that Brown did some good things, but on the whole he was an absolute disaster as Chancellor and as Prime Minister. His pure economic illiteracy is blatantly obvious to everyone.

Not just the pensioners - the changes he brought in contributed to the financial meltdown and the total collapse of all decent pension funds.
Labour should NEVER be allowed to run the country again - they have totally screwed up and things will be bad for at least 10 years.

As much as I'd like to slap Brown, I have to ask if he's really responsible for the financial crisis which infested the planet? Wasn't that something to do with dodgy American toxic loans? Weren't they the triple A rated loans that were bundled up to make them as impenetrable as possible and then sold all over the world?
Now if we are angry, shouldn't the globablized fraud eminating from the US be held responsible? Let's not kid ourselves that they have nothing to do with it.

You may be right that the US were the biggest contributors to the financial crash but for the past 13 years Brown has not been a Tax & Spend Chancelor - he has been a TAX & BORROW man. The difference is he was so sure of his infalability that he failed to acknowledge economic cycles - so when the crash came he had left us with absolutely NOTHING in the coffers, & even now the present government has to borrow 1 pound in every 4 which is spent just to keep the country on an even keel!
