I live in Portland and wonder how fares are collected on the Edmonton system. Portland uses the honor system and it is a disgrace and very unfair. Many never pay while others do. Tickets are rarely if ever checked by Fare Inspectors on the Light Rail.

now i know why the sd160 has the old age whining sound from motor they are AC Variable Frequency Variable Voltage driven that explains why they have that loud whining sound of old age

I don't know... I can't hear any gear box sound. The most prominent sound is the steel wheels on steel rails. I often find the trains are noisier after rail grinding, which had occured within a month before this video was taken.
