Here's a little piece of technology you might be interested in seeing. It's the new Honda Civic Hybrid for 2006. Fully loaded as tested here, the car costs $25K. It's been completely redesigned, and it has lots of great technology inside. Take a look at this video review from Gizmodo correspondent Charlie White.

  • It can use its maximum torque with the CVT. That's if it has any. Honda is all horsepower, and you have to rev it to redline anytime you need to get going. The bad thing about the Civic hybrids is that the gas engine is always on unless you are completely stopped. In Toyota's system, the car can use fully electric mode. The Civic Hybrid has a smaller engine, and is assisted by the electric motor because us Americans can't live without 500+HP under the hood.

  • @sonofthedestroyer LOWEST GRIP WITH CIVIC 2007-PRESENT.

  • @Stonedbrownguy yeah, for normal cars it is, but for hybrids its decent

  • @Stonedbrownguy I'm pretty sure he said 60.

  • this car is not sluggish? 0-16 in 12 seconds is pretty slow...

  • @lostincybers Oh come on muffin. Saturn S-Series were cheap, no question, but they were ridiculous on gas. Straight highway my old 2001 SC1 would get 42mpg, easily. With city/highway, 35mpg was not uncommon at all. The S-Series was simple, economical and reliable transportation - and they still are if you are lucky enough to find one that's been well maintained.

Saturn's failures, moreover, GM's failures, are a whole different topic.
