No insight was launched in 1999 before that was several hybridcars already for example Audi Duo(1989) and TOYOTA PRIUS(1997 Japanese market. First-year sales were nearly 18,000.) So Honda is not first hybrid car.

you're on crack if you think a civic looks like a prius. i'll give you prius has the upper hand on hybrid technology, but it looks like a friggin' pretentious escape pod.

These "hybrids" seem so efficient with MPG...but not really. I can get 35 MPG with my Saturn SL2 which I bought $650 and have about $250 in performance parts on it, which in the end allows my engine to breathe much better improving MPG if I keep my foot out of it. Hell, old Swifts and even Sprints get better mileage than that...

well you must realize that new cars have safety standards, as well as creature comforts that add significant wieght..

These new Honda cars are an absolute riot of technology, and it's very impressive how efficient they are considering their wieght..

Rember their goal is to SELL CARS..

With that in mind, people dont want to drive little shit boxes.. :)
