Two beautiful sung pieces by Henry Purcell. One is from a play called "Rule a Wife, and Have a Wife" and the second is based on a poem by Anne Finch. Both recordings can be found on the 6CD box set 'Purcell: Theatre Music'.
The paintings are:
1. "A Walk in Andalusia" by Francisco Goya (1777). The aforementioned play is situated around Medina-Sidonia.
2. "North Downs" by Ernest Christie (c. 1920). Anne Finch was from Sydmonton, Hampshire, and later resided in Kent.
