  • Hehe...almost looks better than the original model, since that game is so dated. What program are you using? I do my stuff in Maya...

  • WOW someone left me a comment! thanks! haha. I use 3ds max with V-ray and sometimes Final Render. Yea the game is very old! But i was 6 when i first played it and i always loved this particular tie fighter. However, my computer crashed and i lost the model. I plan on remodelling it soon. I currently am learning maya, its different then 3ds max when it comes to the UI but i think ill get the hang of it. How long have you been working with Maya?

  • This is fantastic. Most definitely my favorite starfighter to come out of Star Wars fiction.

  • Almost looks better? It's tons better if you ask me. I remember that game and I recognized the fighter. I always loved the thing, and trust me buddy, this model of yours is great.

I mean really it's like if they took a fighter and made it better in every way. 5 guns, 3 engines, shields and hyperdrive included, larger cockpit, AND a cloak?! It just rocks.

The only weakness is that it needs very rare crystals to run the cloaking field, so the price-tag was probably very high.

  • I started working with Maya in January, for a 3D modeling class I took in college last semester. Prior to that, I don't have any modeling experience, so I can't really judge whether 3DS or Maya is better.

Seems like most of the stuff I find on YouTube is 3DS, but then again most of the models people post weren't made by them...just downloaded off of websites hosted by the people who REALLY know what they're doing. So, basically it's hard to judge. =P
