@cannonfirexm Once, I welded together two slant sixes and installed 12 one-barrel carbs, each with its own blow-through turbo setup. *AND* it was a diesel.
Twice I had the outboard carb linkage come loose, and jam down into the mani at WOT. Some fun for a few seconds. A lot of big blocks saw my tail lights.
I once bought one of these motors out of a AAR and transplanted it into my '69 Barracuda. At $500, it was a bargain, even back then. Those carbs were sitting on top of a high rise Offy manifold. So pretty!
I remember seeing an AAR in a farm granary in about 1973. It was for sale but had rusted quarters so no one was interested. Later, a friend got it for 600 dollars and it sat in his back yard until he lost interest and unloaded it. I looked at a hemi in a roadrunner about that time too. This was in a little town in Minnesota. This stuff used to be everywhere, no big deal. It was all so fun. I had what now would be 100,000 worth of cars and parts and hadn't spent 10,000. Now all sold.
It came with hydraulic lifters and adjustable valves. It also had the potential for a 4-bolt main cap, as an option. It had more material in the main cap that could be drilled for the 4-bolt. It was a beefier block, with thicker webs, than the standard 340.
Hey this guy I used to know back in the 80"s had a 75 power wagon, with a 340 6-pack, he swore up and down it was "stock" I couldnt find anyone who'd back his story. The same guy said the 383 in my 1970 SUPERBEE wasnt factory, that only 440 mags came in SUPERBEE'S, Go figure?
@Nza420 Damn.........you got @19baitmaster51 beat on his linkage fiasco.
