Short video of flying the 1941 Korda Wakefield rubber powered model airplane. This one was built in 2006. Balsa construction with Japanese tissue covering. It features a single bladed carved balsa propeller and a fuse type de-thermalizer device to prevent out of sight "flyaways".

  • Just curious. Why a single-bladed prop? I've never used one. I've seen them used, but have only carved conventional two-bladed props.

  • The single blade propeller came as a kit within the airplane kit. I built it as a novelty. It does work !

  • It needed some down thrust for the first launch. Glides perfect when tested, Prop has a lot of torque!

  • Looks like it needs some right thrust to damp out power stall

  • I thought that this was the 1939 Korda? I remember building one about 23 years ago.

  • Nice. I used to build rubber powered free flight machines. It is good to see someone is still doing it.

  • ...but needs some down trust adj, because goes nose up and stalls under full power then goes down too fast.

  • Poetic! deserve pro cameraman!

  • Very nice build : )

  • Very Well done. My hats off to you FF guys. Cheers! MPP
