12" RE SE X 12D2 Subwoofer, Massive Audio P1000.1, 2009 Galant Sport V6

12" RE SE X 12D2 Subwoofer pushed by a Massive Audio P1000.1 in a 2009 Galant Sport V6. Slot ported Box to spec 2.0@33hz. Massive Amp Bridged @ 1 Ohm w/ 4 Gauge amp kit. This is one of the loudest systems I have heard using only ONE 12" sub. Right now the amp is geting a signal using a high/low converter tapped into the left and right rear 6x9 Rockford Design subwoofers. Good thing is I can control the bass level from the head unit. I wish I could get a clean low level signal to my amp from the Rockford Design system w/o the use of a hi/low convrtr. I think this would make the sub play even lower and cleaner????

you are probly only getting about 700 out of that amp. Unless it says it is complient with the standard you are not getting what it's rated at. FYI

@egillm8707k I looked over my amps manual and its true that Im not getting 1000 rms. Massive Audio Amps are CEA compliant. RMS @ 1 Ohm (<1%distortion) it puts out 880w. The maximum power @ 14.4 VDC is 1000w. What it does not say is at how many volts its putting out the 880w @ 1ohm... Hopefully at 12volts and not 14.4

@Gomez561 Damn, now I’m learning that my 90 amp car alternator can only supply my Massive Amplifier with around 55 amps before going to my car battery for power reserves if my amplifier is trying to push out more than 500 watts to my sub. Guess I gotta get a new alternator and maybe a second car battery if I want my Massive Amp to put out close to 900wrms........then again, its loud enough the way it is now : )

do you smell any coil after long periods of bumpin it at that high of a wattage? I was running a kicker ZX750.1 to mine with all the gains n stuff turned down and bumping it hard i started smellin it and the coils were running hot. thats why i got the SXX and upgraded

@Pofke13LT I dont get any smell, then again the longest period of time that I bump is about 25min of really loud bass. My amp gain is ALL the way down because my Galants Rockford Design system cant keep up with the RE. Is the preice difference between the SXX and SEX worth it?

That is pretty weak for "1000 wrms" IMO.

It doesn't seem to be distorting the cameras microphone at all, which would be easy on that crappy thing you took to record the video, whatever is it, probably your phone.

I could be wrong though.

Have you tried turning the box, maybe sub up and port up?

Hell yeah man!! RE audio is the shit! I accidentally hooked mine up wrong one night when i was drunk and blew one and then the other.. I'm hoping to get them repaired someday and put them back to work!

@Gomez561 price difference is well worth it, in my opinion.. Compared to mainstream brands like Kicker, Alpine, etc. any RE Audio is a steal in my opinion and better sounding.
