Google Earth Enterprise Case Study: Virtual Alabama

The state of Alabama has built a common operating picture, called "Virtual Alabama," which is shared by over 1,000 government agencies. Virtual Alabama uses Google Earth Enterprise, a secure version of Google Earth that agencies can run in their own data centers to build a globe with their own geospatial data.

Oh and with all this wonderful imagery provided by Alabama DHS and other tools of the government - the terrorists should be able to be much more accurate in their targeting of Alabama citizens - you know - with all the floor plans and such available. I'm sure that can't be hacked into

Oh wonderful - you have given eyes to the EPA so they can spy on the people of Alabama to see if they are violating any EPA rules? How nice - NOT! I love the chirpy elevator music as the bureaucrats tout the latest in Big Brother technology to spy on you inside buildings and make sure you aren't doing anything that harms the common good. This is hideous and the people of Alabama need to stop this. A clear violation of your 4th amendment rights, "to be secure in your person, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated...."

They sure have been quiet about this in Alabama... this is the first I've heard of it. Seems a little too far reaching, to me. Especially with all the cameras popping up all over the place here.
