Schubert-R. Strauss: Kupelwieser Waltz

Charming little waltz by Franz Schubert which he played on Paul Kupelwieser's wedding in 1826. The music was never written down by the composer, but passed on from generation to generation by ear. Finally in 1943, Mautner Markhof (born Kupelwieser) asked the composer Richard Strauss, a friend of the family, to transcribe it. The composer rose galantly to the task, adding a few refinements of his own, as Schubert connoiseurs are quick to point out.

it is really wonderful!!

but it was not composed for paul kupelwieser (born 1842). it was composed for the wedding of his father, the austrian painter, leopold kupelwieser.

I know de story of the waltz, but I ear it for first time. I love Schubert music. I visited his sacred places in Austria. I have a blog in his honour. Sorry, my english is very bad.
