Ok, this is my new full-custom, 100% original puppet. His name is Short John Silver. I designed him and built him- no kit, no instructions, no pre-assembled parts. I had to figure out how to make about 95% of the inner workings on my own. I invented the pattern for his tiny coat, too. Neat, huh?
New video of a puppet how-to is up!

It's not this puppet, it's a muppet-styled one.

  • @moonbyuI try writing routines but when i say them they are not that funny in my head they sound good but when practice it

    It sounds wrong

  • @TheTCband Keep practicing, and find a person you can bounce ideas of off, so they can give input on how funny it is, or how it could be worded differently to be funnier.

  • how tall is he?!

  • @spiderchan9 About 2 feet, give or take a few inches.

  • @MoonBYU How do u plan your routines

  • @TheTCband Write down anything funny that happens/is said for a couple weeks, write them into jokes. No real instructions on it, I just try to come up with something.

  • @moonBYU i am funny i am the class clown but to a level, everyone says no one makes them laugh except u but the puppet doesnt sound right

  • @moonbyu I*

  • @bjcarterz1793 alot of people can build things like that at home. ever heard of dan payes? go to his website

  • @MoonBYU Cool, thanks for the response.

  • @bjcarterz1793 That's... odd. Why? I built every bit of this. I even made up a tiny coat pattern and sewed his clothing.

  • I honestly don't really believe you made that yourself... No offence..

  • @RoadKillKoolKitty Sounds good. Seriously, no pressure to buy one from me. I'm probably not the best OR cheapest out there, there are people who really do this for a living, and I encourage giving them the business!

Or you can make your own, which is what I really suggest :)

  • @RoadKillKoolKitty Yes, which, on a very simple puppet, like the one in my tutorial, would be about $10. Elwood I bought children's clothing for, which cost a little more, probably about $20 total.

  • @RoadKillKoolKitty Depends on a lot of the details (size, complexity, clothing). I think it'd probably be about $120 plus materials. I know that may seem steep. It's not a difficult process, but it's also kind of a slow one.

If that seems like too much, I suggest watching my how-to video, and making your own. The link is in the description of this vid!

  • dude change your username

  • @ThePopcorn12 I'll make you one for $600

  • IM 11 YEAR OLD VENTRILOQUIST!! ILL PAY $ FOR IT!! WHATEVER PRICE YOU WANT!!

  • @VentriloTrist Someday, when I make another one, I'll document the process.

  • tutorial ?

  • @chencha1111

    I built it, I didn't buy it.

  • where do u get one?

  • I would be willing to pay

  • Could you make me a head, no paint? With eyes, mouth, eyebrows, and eye lids moving?
