Great sound from this cartridge.
Goldring is a UK brand, but this cartridge is actually made in Japan. The sound is detailed but not edgy, great mid range and strong bass without being intrusive. When tested against the Goldring 2200, or the 1042 from the 1000 series, the differences were quite striking, with the 2500 sounding quite a bit less confused in the complex musical parts, everything sounds smoother and in its right place. Actually the sound is similar to the latest Ortofon 2M Black which costs quite a lot more and sounds a bit too smooth for my taste... lacks punch. The 2500 is a true winner and a class leader.
I'm sorry that the camera can't capture sound properly :(
Actually i didnt like the 2M Black it wears me after a while of listening, its midrange semt to bow out forwards maybe it was poorly matched to equipment used. It got great reviews tho in some of the hi-fi comics. This goldring is on shortlist. Moral of story is dont buy without audition in person. Saves lots of money in long run, I learnt the hard way. Even travelling two cities away, which can be good day out. Thanks

Hi. Nice setup!! I've just picked up a p3 24 and a goldring 2500. I'm wondering did you need to use any VTA spacers on the RB301 arm? Oh yeah and what's the song I really like it??

Yo
Nice combination man, I'm a big fan of the 2500 and about to take the plunge and buy one for my P3. What spacer size do you use under the arm and was there any other adjustments when fitting?
Cheers
