best swing ever! i recon nicklaus tried to copy

Hoganesque elements, sure, but the actual look of it is somewhere between Hogan and Nicklaus, and not by accident, since Jack's basic fundamentals (through Jack Grout) were essentially those of Hogan--the windup of the big muscles, the pull of the left shoulder and side, the muscularity of the motion, the hip clearance, all of it. He even said directly that he "wanted to do it Hogan's way." Golfdog is right--this would be the best on the LPGA right now, easily.

@larrydonguy Yes, my thought exactly as I watched, looks a lot like Hogan's. Gosh, weren't they playing about the same time...maybe Hogan a few years ahead.

I would say her swing is maybe the best of all time.

@cgasucks Mickey Wrights's swing LOOKS a lot like Hogan's in these videos. Maybe a little more upright.

At any rate, Mickey Wright was friggin' awesome, and I'd take that swing right now and go make a living with it.

I honestly don't remember for sure, but I was thinking he might have said that she had one of the best, man or woman. But maybe he said both things at different times. They're both right--although, honestly, the younger (pre-over-instruction) Michelle Wie was absolutely astonishing. Really. If that kid 1) hadn't been overinstructed (prob. due to her dad), and 2) was one of the better chippers and putters (she can be really abysmal), nobody else might ever win.

Hogan was quoted as saying she had the best swing he had ever seen in a lady golfer.

I would rate the 2nd swing in this video as one of the greatest swings of all time.
uh, that would be the best swing on the LPGA right now by far.. wow.
