  • Thank you for posting this lovely video. You make it look so easy to make scones that now I will try to make them for tomorrows tea.

  • @Heliantheae08

Thanks for watching the video and hopefully all went well with your tea and scones.

Sorry for the slow reply, I don't always see the comments in my inbox.

    Have a good weekend!

Clotted cream is a thick cream made by indirectly heating full-cream cow's milk using steam or a water bath and then leaving it in shallow pans to cool slowly. During this time, the cream content rises to the surface and forms 'clots' or 'clouts'.

It forms an essential part of a cream tea and the OriginalNakedChef´s scones :))

  • @tjbollman1 I agree British cows are just better not to mention they do not ultra pasturize everything to death over there too. I found this recipe for clotted cream at cupcakeproject. com, then look up her clotted cream recipe It looks pretty easy. I am going to try and make it this weekend.

  • @tjbollman1 Oh that is a brilliant idea! I am going to try that today. Thanks! :)

  • @Heliantheae08 Thanks so much! I don't know if you have ever tired to 'duplicate' Devonshire Cream, but if you beat in a little cream cheese it does have a similar taste. (I love how we have 'recipes for stuff like Creme Frais, and theirs come right out of the cow that way). LOL!

  • @Heliantheae08 Thank you VERY MUCH for taking the time to share this information with me! I know there is no real comparison between the dairy prfoducts of the two countires, the Britts just have better cows, haha. Thanks again for your kindness.

  • @tjbollman1 American half-and-half is equivalent to British single cream and American Heavy cream is equivalent to British Heavy cream. Also I am not sure where you live in the USA but I found Devonshire clotted cream both at Krogers and Meijers in the imports isle. There is nothing like fresh British clotted cream and I have been on the look out for an American substitute and will let you know when I find it. :)

  • Oh you lucky Brits....don't you know we don't have stuff like clotted cream and double cream, here in the USA? It looks great!
