Late Saturday night, September 4, torrential rains filled the river at San Pancho with raging waters and heavy debris, taking out the only entrance/exit to this village on the West Coast of Mexico. A temporary pedestrian bridge was erected Sept 5 and that was washed away late on the 6th, again isolating the pueblo.
This shows the bridge site today (Sept 7) looking from town East. Traffic on the main highway (Rt. 200) is blocked so you see trucks, buses and cars in the background. In the foreground, a group of Mexican adventurers make a challenge of the missing bridge as they attempt to set up a zipline across the chasm.
