Folks, Can you please refrain from personal abuse and bad language on this page? Everyone has an opinion but if you can't express it without bad language or having a go at another user then please don't!

For the record Ireland DO NOT wear white against Italy or Scotland. We wear an Alternate jersey when there is a clash with a team visiting us. This is an old rugby tradition from when touring teams could not bring lots of kit so it was the gentlemanly thing for the home team to change.

I agree with that analogy but don't see the point in having an argument about it.

This Jersey is just that, publicity and a perceived gap in the market for a black rugby jersey the Irish can wear. "jersey u can wear to the pub over prostituting the original colours of our team"

Thats a cracking analogy! and i reckon your spot on! 100%

But lets not fight and try to get along ;)

I however go to my local club, buy a ticket and go to the fucking match. As for white. its always been our alternative colour. white with green accents. thats out colour, thats why its important. and everyone has been giving shit to the french and english for their copycat jerseys, now we are also copycats, and look like dicks. enjoy it mate

Its a once off jersey, they are not prostituting anything. White isnt a meaningful colour in relation to Ireland or Irish rugby. And why the "prostituting" of the colors of the flag of the IRFU pains you so much I have no idea. Are you more attached to the flag than the team or the union ? I'm not a band wagon supporter and I am not buying the jersey to pretend I'm an AB. Its a nice jersey I'll support the team by buying it, its something different. Now fuck off with your shitty attitude.

I will only agree that your entitled to your opinion however arrogant it may be. Fact is the ABs dont own black Fine, but why prostitute our traditional colours green and white for a stupid black? No need to answer! I work in marketing, and i know its for CASH. Fair enough i suppose if the IRFU need the cash, there are plenty of band wagon rugby supporters who will love the black jersey, they will feel like the AB's while they're in the pub flaunting their pot bellies and saying "like u know"

You are getting worked up over the colour of a jersey which is rarely worn, which you know wont be worn again before its changed probably next WC and which in the past wasnt worn in Rome or regularly against Scotland. Its a back up in case of a clash which is rare. Its as pointless as the white one. White has no significance to anything, do fans wear white kits to games ? No. Green is the only thing of significance on that flag.Black is no different than the white and the AB dont own the colour

Mate its the alternative jersey it replaces the white jersey, thats not a temporary thing. Jamie is write only in that it will change again when they launch a new jersey in the future.

Now there is no hissy fit, I will try to drag it back to the original point. Black has no significance in irish rugby, so the black jersey is utterly pointless. Unless you happen to be one of the muppets who wants a black jersey to strut around the bar in. Its a rip off of the AB's and know it

We have our main jersey which is green and an alternate which is something worn when there is a clash or it has been released. I dont know what the fuck you've been watching (England maybe?) but we dont wear the white every time in Rome nor do we regularly wear it against Scots or anyone else. We wore it against France pre world cup as it was a new kit. This one will be no different. Jamie Heaslip even tweeted that it was a once off jersey. So your hissy fit is kinda pointless.

How many jersey colours have we got...... 2 green and white. call it what you will semantics i call it (away or alternate semantics it amounts to the same thing) fact remains there are 2 colours. thats the point your deliberately missing. We wear the white EVERY FUCKING TIME WE PLAY IN ROME! twat! also against the scots because the green is very dark as is there blue.

No more white do you get the picture yet?

You are calling it an away jersey and it isnt. Its nothing of the sort. You do know what an away jersey is dont you ? A jersey used when playing away from home ? Unlike the rugby alternate which is rarely used. So before calling anyone a twat or looking down on any other fans (I'm not a fan of football btw) maybe take your head out of your own ass. When did we wear the alternate jersey in 6 nations against Scotland and Italy ? Gimme dates, because I'm starting to think your fuckin colour blind.
