Actually what you don't remember is, the humans were on Pandora just to obtain type of mineral that is said worth a lot. The Navi were not slaves of the humans and the humans had no desire in them directly. Also the Glukkons and Sligs were two species that worked together to get Mudoken meat, bones, and eventually tears. The humans were in it alone.

has anyone ever noticed that the movie avatar is kind of a oddworld rip off? blue guys with long ponytails, evil guys who don't respect nature. one hero who learns to connect to the nature again and stuff like that. they should've done an abe movie instead of avatar!

@arcticridge Actually it was. You could do this in Munch's oddysee. There was an entire beginning of a level dedicated to putting sligs and slogs in the grinder. Which is where this scene gets the inspiration from.

lol they should make more oddworlds like that in 3d. so many ways to mess with your sligs :D

Why wasn't the game this fun?

Yes and no. Its prerendered, but geometry counts are ps2 specific. The demo isn't using bump maps, as lights don't affect their anlge. Much of the look is through lighting, but this too is possible on ps2 by volumes or shadow maps. Several games use a 256x256 shadow maps per chara for every light source, which blends well with ambience (Hit Man:BM). The shadowing from the sun could be a simple scaled 256x256 that's blurred like in Primal, or like in Area51, a static projected texture.
