Man, listen to the part before the solo, there is NO guitar sound. It's the sound of a trumpet and a sax.

Call me crazy but I have a suspicion Lenny wasn't really playing until the guitar solo. Right before the solo, you see him and Craig Ross not play anything on their guitars because their getting ready for Lenny's solo, however you still "hear" guitars playing right at that moment.
