If you were stranded with only a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and a lighter, would you be able to survive? Watch how this blade performs in the backcountry.
The Late Boy Scout was kind enough to collaborate with the Blade HQ crew in field testing the Paramilitary 2. We were looking to create a scenario where a solid knife would be an absolute necessity. The goal wasn't a torture test-- it was all about hard use in a hairy situation. It was a riot hanging out with Scout; he's genuine. Subscribe to his channel to see his adventures:

The music is a composition by award-winning guitarist Don Alder. The man is super talented-- a regular finger-picking prodigy. We contacted him on a whim via YouTube and he cordially let us use the song for our video. Go listen to more of his music here:

A couple production and post-production notes for the curious:
Everything you see was as it happened. You may have noticed Scout was carrying an axe of sorts. He was filming some pick-up shots for another video that was unrelated to the one we filmed together: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DbCcA-...
We didn't cheat any of the shots with the knife testing. What you see is what happened. On that note, it took Scout a few tries to get the fire started. I gave the man a break... I mean, he's a late boy scout, not a current one. In the editing room, I cheated the footage to make it look like he started the fire on the first try-- editor's privilege. :)
Filmed in Utah March 2012 on a Panasonic AG-AC130 and a GoPro Hero.

I know! It's crazy to think about how fast time flies. I'm doing great. I can't speak for Scout, but when I saw him last week, he was as happy as a hound dog with a hamburger.

It's in the description box. It's by a guy named Dan Alder. He's a champ.

Yep... what you're seeing is a classic example of the supply not meeting the demand. We chatted wit Sal at SHOT and he said their US plant is overloaded and they can't churn out blades fast enough. They're working on expanding. For now, there will be limited supply and extensive demand. Everyone keeps asking us about this... do me a favor and give this comment a thumbs up, so everyone knows what's going on. Thanks!
